Your First Visit to Our Scarborough Practice

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

New patients often remark how warm and friendly our office is.  That's good, because our goal is to offer state-of-the-art chiropractic care in a comfortable surrounding.

You'll meet the doctor after filling out some brief paperwork describing you, your health history and health goals.  Dr. Abtan will ask details about your complaint and overall health history.  This will help him determine in you are good candidate for chiropractic care.  We offer this initial consultation so we can both get to know one another.  If we think we can help you an examination follows.

Dr. Abtan may perform some of these tests:

  • Analysis of your movement
  • Analysis of your posture including a computerized digital postural examination
  • A test of your muscle strength, flexibility and coordination
  • Physical, orthopedic and chiropractic tests
  • A check of reflexes, blood pressure, pulse and breathing
  • X-rays if required (bring a copy or report of any x-rays you might have)

Our examinations are thorough and will put you at ease.

We Explain Everything First

The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem.

Scarborough chiropractic patients appreciate that we explain everything in advance!

What happens if you stop chiropractic care when you feel better?
Many Scarborough folks recognize that this predisposes you to a relapse. Chiropractors know that muscles and ligaments supporting the spine don't fully heal until after symptoms subside.
